We put the "rad" in tradition with our annual events!The Council on University Programming is a group that provides large-scale, engaging, and entertaining events to the entire UChicago community. We hope to see you at one (or more) of them!

We organize many of the yearly social events that are synonymous with the social culture at UChicago, such as Kuvia, Snowball, and Summer Breeze. All COUP events are free to UChicago students, staff, and alumni.Learn more about our upcoming events here!

WANT TO GET INVOLVED?
VOLUNTEER WITH US
COUP is always looking for volunteers to help make their events a success. Come see how a large-scale University event works behind the scenes. Volunteers win our eternal gratitude by helping set up, decorate, run, and clean up events. They also get to skip the lines for free food and drinks and, depending on the event, days off Kuvia or a past Kuvia shirt!Best of all, have fun working with our hardworking COUP members!
JOIN US ON THE BOARD
Each board member is in charge of specific operations within COUP. For example, the marketing team is responsible for designing and ordering posters, creating t-shirts, and publicizing COUP events to a wide audience. Facilities chairs are in charge of booking venues, planning decorations, etc. Food & Bev team are the ones who find the best food vendors to provide all the free food we give out at our events.If you’re interested in applying for next year’s board, stay on the lookout for application announcements mid-Spring quarter.
COLLABORATE WITH US
We can’t run great events without great food, entertainment, and venues. If you are a local business or student organization, we would love to work with you to provide UChicago with quality events and at the same time, provide your organization with exposure to our campus population. In the past, we have invited all types of student organizations to perform at our events and lead Kuvia workshops, and we have catered from or gained sponsorships from businesses such as Te Amo, Harper Theater, and Medici. OUR ANNUAL EVENTS
As the biggest programming organization on campus, COUP puts on all kinds of exciting events throughout the school year for the UChicago community to enjoy. Our major events include Kuvia, Snowball, and Summer Breeze, all of which are UChicago traditions we've carried on for decades now. We also host smaller events such as Uncommon Nights, popup picnics, and other surprises that you wouldn't want to miss out on!Our next major event of the year is the Summer Breeze Carnival on May 13 from 12-4 PM on the quad. Be sure to save the date!
